2025 Summer Tryouts
256 Lacrosse Club is offered as a summer travel lacrosse program. 256 is a competitive development program open to boys who have just finished 3rd grade through 11th grade. For each team, deepened skill development and lacrosse fundamentals are emphasized in a competitive team environment. Participating boys must try-out for 256 LC, but must also participate in a COYLL (such as Pickerington, St. Matthew's, Granville, New Albany, Bexley, Gahanna, etc.), recreational, or school team. Coaches will evaluate each player's lacrosse skill, lacrosse IQ, hustle play, position play, and game play. The 256 season starts once the school season is done (end of May or beginning of June) and finishes in July; it consists of practices and 3 tournaments. There is no cost to tryout!
AGES
256 Lacrosse Club will field teams for players with the graduation year 2034-2026. It is our goal to field a team at each grade level. However, it is possible some teams will be split ages (i.e. 2033/2034).
USA LACROSSE MEMBERSHIP
Each player trying out for 256 Lacrosse Club is required to have a USA Lacrosse Youth Membership ($30-$35 paid directly to USA Lacrosse). If you do not already have one for your recreation league, community, or school team you can purchase one at the link below.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does 256 play?
256 Lacrosse Club operates during the summer months. From its inception, 256 Lacrosse Club was always meant to serve as an "in addition to" community/recreation/school ball, never an "instead of". 256 Lacrosse Club consists of summer practices (twice a week, 2 hours each) and 3 tournaments. We start towards the end of May/beginning of June and finish up the middle of July.

What does it cost to play for 256 Lacrosse Club?
Since fall of 2021, we have been able to keep the cost per player to $650.00 plus the cost of uniform. Unfortunately, due to significant increases in tournament costs, facility rentals, and and equipment, the fees for summer 2025 are $750.00 plus the cost of your player pack (reversible jersey, shorts, and shooting shirt shipped directly to you). Despite the necessary increase, we are thrilled to still be providing the most financially accessible program around.
What do my fees go towards?
The majority of fees are used to pay for tournament entry and coaching stipends. Fees are also used for equipment, such as balls and goals, first aid kits, AEDs, and field rental. As transparency is of the utmost importance to us, every member of 256 Lacrosse Club is able to view the club's finances upon request.
Do you offer payment plans?
Absolutely!! After the initial $150.00 deposit due at sign up, $100.00 payments can be paid monthly (starting September 1, 2025) until there is no balance. Please note, the entire fee amount must be paid by May 31, 2025.
Are there fundraising opportunities?
There sure are! And guess what?!?! 100% of the funds you raise during the fundraiser are applied to your fees (Please note, you do NOT have to participate in the fundraiser, you can simply pay the entirety of your fees).
What makes 256 Lacrosse Club different?
The 3 Cs....Cost, Coaching, and Community.
Cost: As a non-profit, our goal is to bring a geographically and financially accessible lacrosse club option to the southeast side of Columbus, OH.
Coaching: Our coaches are extremely knowledgeable, caring, and approachable. Please visit the coaches corner above to learn about each of our coaches.
Community: 256 Lacrosse Club offers a family like atmosphere. All of our teams (so far) travel to the same tournaments and frequently stay at the same hotels when we travel. The sense of community is welcoming and strong from the youngest of the 256 players through the high schoolers.
